I think that the CLS 63 AMG is a bit more comparable with the RS7 and Gran Coupe, no?

Either way, I’d choose the E63. Beautifully understated. It has that Old Money aire.

I was going to use the M5 but I thought it was ugly. The RS7 compares to the CLS/E63 and the M5/M6 GC because there’s no RS6 in North America.

True but once the RS7 starts going it will blow right by the Tesla.

The P85D has the huge launch advantage and great acceleration, it just doesn’t have that top speed factor

Easy for me: M6 GC, because it’s the only one that can be had with a manual.

If we pretend that I could only get the auto in the M6 to make it fair, I’d probably go with the RS7.

I’d have a hard time buying a E63 that wasn’t a wagon

Yes, but I’m sure that the M6 is plenty fast for me. My dad has a C63 that I’ve driven quite a bit, and it’s very “slow” relative to any of these cars. I rarely use more than 20% of that car’s potential. At some point, I actually think that slower cars become more fun to use on the street.

Part of the problem with the C63 is that it’s a growling tail-happy, tire-shredding monster so it’s a little harder to control. The new E63 on the other hand has standard AWD now to help solve those issues.

True, but there are very few places, at least where my parents live where I can even push hard enough to break the back end loose. I mostly use the power to rip down freeway on-ramps, but other than that I mostly drive it like a normal car.

There’s just too much traffic in suburban CLE to play with the limits of grip. Of course, if you live somewhere more open it may be much easier to go fast.

I’m about to graduate from college, and I’m looking at replacing my Aviator with something more fun. I could maybe afford a lower end used AMG or M car, but I’m looking more into a base 996 or e91 328i because the power is more useable.
